Scholarship Recipient Update: Megan Upson

Every year RMJ Humanities selects three to four scholarship recipients for the RMJ Humanities Academic Excellence Scholarship Award. Last year, Megan Upson was one of the four recipients of this award. We got in touch with Megan to see how she is doing. She was happy to share updates with us and our readers.

Megan is currently attending MiraCosta College in Oceanside, CA. She is currently majoring in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Math and Science. In the years to come, she plans to transfer to California Polytechnic State University, in San Luis Obispo to study animal science in order to prepare herself for a career as a Veterinarian. As Megan pursues her education, she is also gaining work experience by working at Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center. “One day, when I achieve my goal of being a Veterinarian, I hope that I am able to come back to my hometown and give back to my community. I am eager to learn now so that I can help others in the future,” said Megan. “RMJ Humanities really assisted this dream, not only by the scholarship awarded to me, but also by showing me that I can be great and I can give back.”
